Travelodge Ipoh is the third Travelodge hotel to open in Malaysia in under 18 months. Ipoh, 16 January 2020 – Travelodge Hotels Asia (TLA), one of the fastest growing midscale hotel companies in Asia, ramps up its expansion in Malaysia with the debut of its third hotel, Travelodge Ipoh. The hotel opens today following a successful rebranding and refurbishment of the former Heritage Hotel Ipoh.

Bandar keempat terbesar di negara ini, Ipoh telah mendapat pengiktirafan yang mantap sebagai destinasi pelancongan sejak beberapa tahun kebelakangan ini. Pertemuan faktor – termasuk warisan kolonial dan budaya yang berakar umbi di bandar ini, banyak tarikan semula jadi di dalam dan sekitar Ipoh, serta akses pelancong yang mudah yang didayakan oleh lapangan terbang antarabangsanya sendiri – telah meningkatkan daya tarikan dan populariti Ipoh dengan pelancong domestik dan antarabangsa serupa. Pelancongan bandar ini dijangka mendapat rangsangan lagi apabila pentadbiran Perak mula melancarkan pelbagai inisiatif di bawah kempen 'Tahun Melawat Malaysia 2020'. “Kami sangat teruja untuk memulakan 2020 dengan pembukaan hotel Travelodge keempat kami di Malaysia. Kemasukan kami ke Ipoh didorong oleh keyakinan kami terhadap prospek pertumbuhan bandar untuk menjadi salah satu destinasi utama negara pada tahun-tahun akan datang,” kata Encik Marcus Aw, Pengarah Urusan, Travelodge Hotels Asia. “Dengan Malaysia dalam pemacu pelancongan yang besar dan sasaran bercita-cita tinggi untuk menarik 30 juta pelawat antarabangsa, kami percaya terdapat lebih banyak ruang untuk pertumbuhan, terutamanya untuk jenama hotel skala pertengahan global yang memenuhi keperluan pengembara yang menghargai nilai. Kami berminat untuk memperkenalkan jenama Travelodge ke bandar-bandar lain seperti Kota Kinabalu, Melaka, Johor Bahru dan Kuching – hanya untuk menamakan beberapa – dan membina portfolio kami sambil kami berusaha ke arah 15 hotel di Malaysia menjelang 2025.”

Travelodge Ipoh is situated close to the city’s business district and famous tourist attractions such as Lorong Gundik, Mural Art Lane, Perak Tong Cave Temple, Kellie’s Castle, dan Gua Tempurung. It offers 268 newly refurbished rooms in five categories – Superior, Deluxe, Premier, Family Deluxe and Family Suite – catering to both business and leisure guests.

Additionally, the hotel offers 2 meeting rooms, 3 ballrooms and a grand ballroom, making it an ideal venue for meetings, incentives, conferencing and exhibition (MICE). Other amenities include high speed WIFI, satellite TV, self-service laundromat, a gym, a kids’ play area and The Lodge, a multi-functional communal and dining space, to complete the Travelodge Ipoh experience, which promises comfort, convenience and connectivity.

Meningkatkan kehadiran pasaran di Malaysia

With the opening of its third property in under 18 months, TLA is affirming its commitment to and confidence in the Malaysian hotel market. Travelodge Chinatown Kuala Lumpur opened in 2018, and two subsequent properties have quickly followed in Penang and Ipoh – namely Travelodge Georgetown and now Travelodge Ipoh.

Travelodge Hotels Asia is one of the fastest growing international midscale hotel companies in Asia, with 11 hotels opened in under three years across nine cities, including Bangkok, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Pattaya, Penang, Singapore, Seoul and Ipoh. The company aims to grow to 50 hotels by 2025, capturing the midscale select service segment in capital cities and key destinations in Asia.
